The ToDrinQ project reaffirmed its central role in shaping Europe’s pollution-free water future during the ZeroPollution4Water Cluster (ZP4WC) Event, held as part of Water Knowledge Europe 2025 – Winter Edition in Brussels. This year’s session, “Towards a Water Pollution-Free Europe: Building Synergies, Expanding Collaboration, and Strengthening the Cluster’s Impact,” brought together leading Horizon Europe projects dedicated to advancing the EU’s Zero Pollution ambition.

As an established member of the ZeroPollution4Water Cluster, ToDrinQ contributes directly to a collaborative European effort that aligns with the European Green Deal, the EU Zero Pollution Action Plan, and the EU Water Resilience Strategy. The Cluster unites 15 EU-funded projects working across pollution prevention, detection, monitoring, treatment, modelling, and governance—offering a comprehensive foundation to support evidence-based policymaking and implementation of the Water Framework Directive.

During the event, ToDrinQ Project Coordinator Luuk Rietveld (TU Delft) actively represented the project across several activities. Luuk showcased ToDrinQ’s innovative approach to drinking water quality management during the poster session, presenting key achievements and progress from its demonstration cases. He also contributed to the Cluster discussions, reinforcing the project’s commitment to enhancing monitoring, data integration, and smart tools for water safety and pollution mitigation.

The event served as a milestone for the ZP4WC, welcoming eight new projects, revisiting Working Group structures, and shaping a common roadmap for future cooperation. Representatives from REA, DG RTD, and DG ENV participated in strategic exchanges aimed at strengthening the Cluster’s role as a bridge between research and policy.

The day concluded with dynamic breakout sessions where ToDrinQ and fellow projects aligned priorities, shared insights, and co-designed next steps to maximise collective impact. These interactions demonstrated once again the strength of the Cluster in fostering meaningful collaboration on Europe’s most urgent water pollution challenges.

ToDrinQ also recorded an interview during the event, featuring insights from Project Coordinator Luuk Rietveld—coming soon across the project’s communication channels.
