The EU-funded ToDrinQ project is hosting a virtual Validation Workshop for its newly developed Design Support Tool (DST), taking place on 30 September from 10:00 to 12:30 CET. This interactive session invites researchers, water utility operators, and policymakers to experience a live demonstration of the tool and contribute to its final validation.
The primary objective of the workshop is to assess the DST’s practical usefulness in the context of the revised Drinking Water Directive. By providing structured feedback following a comprehensive 70-minute live demonstration, participants will help shape a tool designed to support resilient, evidence-based treatment plant design and improve overall operational response.
A Holistic Approach to Water Quality
ToDrinQ is at the forefront of developing novel real-time sensing and monitoring technologies. The project’s mission is to enhance scientific and technical knowledge regarding drinking water protection while ensuring the minimization of micropollutants, pathogenic microorganisms, and disinfection by-products (DBPs).
The DST is a cornerstone of this mission, providing an interoperable decision-making platform that increases the robustness and adaptability of drinking water systems across Europe.

- Context: Introduction to ToDrinQ and the objectives of the Design Support Tool.
- Demonstration: A 60–70 minute live showcase of the DST in action.
- Dialogue: An interactive Q&A and discussion session with the project’s lead developers.
- Validation: A guided feedback questionnaire to capture expert insights for tool refinement.
