On Tuesday, March 31, 2026, EYDAP (Athens Water Supply and Sewerage Company), in collaboration with the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), will host a high-level technical event titled: “Targeting the Safeguarding of Water Systems Quality – From Research to Application: Operational Integration of Innovative Technologies and Tools.”

The event, which will be held in a hybrid format (at EYDAP premises and online), aims to showcase how cutting-edge European research is being transformed into practical, operational tools for the water sector.

The program represents a unique synergy between three prominent EU-funded projects: ToDrinQUpWater, and UrbaQuantum, all of which are members of the ZeroPollution4Water Cluster. This cluster works collectively to ensure the chemical and biological safety of Europe’s water resources through innovative monitoring and treatment solutions.

Focusing on the ToDrinQ Toolkit

A central highlight of the day will be the presentation of intermediate results from the ToDrinQ project. Experts from EYDAP and NTUA will demonstrate the ToDrinQ toolkit, a suite of advanced technologies designed for real-time water quality monitoring and optimized treatment. The session will focus on the “operational incorporation” of these tools, proving that high-tech research is ready to meet the daily challenges of large-scale water utility management.

Field Demonstration and Site Visit

Beyond the presentations, the event will provide attendees with a glimpse into the ZeroPollution4Water Cluster’s broader impact. The day will conclude with a technical site visit to the UpWater pilot, offering a hands-on look at how these technologies function in a real-world environment.
