On the 23rd of January 2024, the European Commission approved new minimum hygiene standards for materials and products in contact with drinking water.
Effective December 31, 2026, these standards target materials used in new installations or during the renovation/repair of older ones. The regulations aim to curb microbial growth and the risk of harmful substance leaching, ensuring safer drinking water.
